How to Split a PDF Online

  1. Select Click to upload PDF files and choose one PDF. Its pages appear as thumbnails.
  2. Tick the pages you need, use Select All Pages, or type page ranges such as 1-3,6-8. If you choose nothing, every page is used.
  3. Select Split into Separate Files to get each chosen page as its own PDF, or Split & Merge to save the chosen pages together as one new PDF.
  4. Select Download. Separate files arrive as split.zip; a merged selection arrives as merged.pdf.

Separate Files or One New PDF?

Split into Separate Files makes one PDF per page, so a range like 1-3 gives three files. To keep a group of pages together in a single file, use Split & Merge, or Extract PDF Pages.

Each page is copied into the new files as it is, without being turned into an image or compressed again, so text and pictures keep their original quality. Bookmarks from the original PDF are not carried over.

Is It Safe to Split PDF Files Online?

Splitting happens on Utiloot's server, so your PDF is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, held in memory only while it is split, and not saved to disk. The Privacy Policy explains how files are handled.
